French/French Canadian, what's the difference?

In what can only be described as a massive surprise, Canadian PM Martin made sure to get his share of Oil for Food kickbacks by ensuring Jacques Chirac that Canada would not be sending troops to Iraq. Since I know very little Canadian military history, I'll just have to hope that their last battlefield victory was some time more recent than Waterloo. It's amazing that the "Coalition of the Bribed" turned out to be the countries that chose not to join the battle to free Iraq.
